Last weeks flooding caused severe damage across Kentucky and certainly here in Wayne County, as Judge/Executive Greg Rankin Declared a State of Emergency and Governor Steve Beshear has requested federal assistance to help recover from the storms and flooding.
It is crucial that any home or business that was damaged to save all receipts for repairs take photos of the area affected and report all damage to the County Judge Executive’s office at 606.348.4241.
This information will be used to determine if Wayne County is eligible for federal aid and what levels of help, could be available. This money is not available at this time, but could be depending on the qualifications.
“We want everyone to have their receipts, pictures and things of that nature ready, so any home or business that could qualify, will be eligible should our county be approved for federal assistance,” said Greg Rankin.
The County Judge Executive’s office is located on the first floor of the courthouse and is open 8-4:30 during the week and until 6 pm on Tuesday nights.
“Once again we want to remind everyone that the decision to be eligible is made at the federal level, we just want our citizens to be prepared should the assistance become available,” said Rankin.
