Norman Lee Smith

Norman Lee Smith, “Porter”, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Medical Center of Albany in Clinton County, Kentucky, having attained the age of 88 Years, 10 months, and 12 days. He was born on Sunday, May 31, 1936, in the Bug Community of Clinton County, Kentucky, the son of Arthur Lee & Thelma (Barber) Smith. Norman was of the Methodist faith and a devoted member of Concord Church. He spent more than 70 years working as a paint mixer and hardware store clerk, including time at Smith’s Store, Dalton’s, Do-It Center and finally at Albany Plumbing & Electric. In his free time, he found joy in tending to his farm and garden and enjoyed a good ballgame. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Sue (Huff) Smith, whom he wed on, October 18, 1963, and sister, Gwendalean Barnett Stockton.

He is survived by his children, Lana (Huff) Ellison, Lisa (Smith) Copeland, and Allison (Smith) Bilbrey, all of Albany, Kentucky, sister Janet Polston (& Clyde) Shelton, grandchildren, Charles Morrison, Callie Copeland, Gage Bilbrey, Bode Copeland, Gavin Bilbrey, Gunner Bilbrey, and all his Albany Plumbing & Electric “Family”.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. C.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Wells, and Bro. James Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. C.S.T. until 9:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday morning at 6:00 a.m. C.S.T. until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Irwin Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to the Concord Church Building Fund.
