Groundbreaking was held this morning for Centaurus Farms, a medical cannabis grow facility to be located in the Wayne County Industrial Park, just off Bypass 90, on Conley Bottom Road.
Rocky Adkins, Senior Advisor to Governor Andy Beshear made the announcement of Centaurus Farms coming to Monticello with 75 to 100, in what he said are “good paying jobs” .
Late last year, a lottery was held for cultivators, processors, and dispensaries, and this is a continuation of the cultivation role.

It follows medical cannabis being legalized in Kentucky, and that law officially took effect in January of this year
The total project is expected to be a 25 Million dollar investment in Monticello and Wayne County. Walker Land Company of Mt. Sterling has purchased the entire Industrial Park land and will begin construction on the building soon. Centaurus Farms is located in Ft. Lupton, Colorado.
