Mary Ida (Davis) Ferrell of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at her residence, having attained the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 4 days. She was born on Sunday, October 6, 1940, in the Mt. Pisgah Community of Wayne County, Kentucky, the daughter of Teddy Roosevelt & Sarah (Marcum) Davis. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Missouri Hollow Baptist Church. She was a loving homemaker, enjoyed sewing and watching television, especially Law & Order. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Ferrell; daughter, Joan Faye Harmon; siblings, Roy Estil Davis, Douglas Davis, Betty Shelton, Mary Young, and Elizabeth Davis.
She is survived by her children, Mark (& Lena) Ferrell, Thomas (& Rebecca) Ferrell, Anna Burk, all of Monticello, Kentucky, Lisa (& Jason) Abney of Stanford, Kentucky, Frankie (& Kim) Davis of Monticello, Kentucky; grandchildren, Skylar Harmon, Dustie Ferrell, Cody (& Janna) Ferrell, Hunter, Harmony, Lea Ann, Tasmine (& Chase), Summer, Colter, Luke, Laura, Whitney (& Randall), Eva, Teddy, Benny, Justin, Brittany (& Steven) Rutherford; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm EST, in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Smedley and Bro. Terry West officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2026, after 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST, and again on Sunday morning, beginning at 8:00 am EST until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky.
