The couple who were arrested by Monticello Police March 19, Amit Patel and Dishaben Patel, appeared in Wayne District Court Monday.
The Patels are charged with Organized Crime, Theft by Deception, $10,000 or more, and Knowingly Exploiting Adult by person over $300 after a fraud report was investigated by Monticello Police. Monticello Police Chief Joey Hoover testified at Monday’s hearing and probable cause was found to send the case to the Wayne County Grand Jury.
Amit Patels address is listed as Berea, Kentucky, Dishaben Patel’s address as Dalton, Georgia. Both remain lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $100,000 Cash Bond. The Patels have requested a Bond Hearing for April 21 at 1PM.
