Carolyn Sue (Rednour) Grayer of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, having attained the age of 81 years, 9 months and 24 days. Sue was born in Zula, Kentucky on Thursday, April 22, 1943, the daughter of Roscoe & Mossie Mae (Daniels) Rednour. Sue worked as a housekeeper for over 30 years at the Chamber of Commerce building in downtown Indianapolis. She was a member of Lighthouse of Mercy Church in Indianapolis. She will be remembered for always making her family her top priority and making the best fried chicken and chocolate pudding pies. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Pete Grayer, who she wed on March 10, 1962, brothers, Harold Rednour, Carl Rednour, Dean Rednour and Ed Rednour, and sisters, Vela Coffee, Estella Adair and Elgie White.
She is survived by her children, Jean (& Phil) Suiters, Missy Grayer, and Graylann Grayer, grandchildren, Phillip Suiters, Matthew Suiters, Paul Suiters, Megan Roe, Casie Grayer, Emily Grayer, and Caleb Grayer, five great-grandchildren, one soon-to-be great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Singleton and St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, 7602 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 12:00 noon until the funeral four.
A funeral service will also be conducted on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. E.S.T., in the Memory Chapel of the New’s Monticello Funeral Home, 2381 KY-90, Monticello, KY 42633, with Bro. Darrell Ragen officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2025, beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Taylor’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky.
