The Wayne County Tourist Commission met Wednesday for their regular monthly session.
It was the first meeting for new Executive Director Emily Conley, and most of the meeting was spent getting up to date on several topics, mainly involving the Budget and Audits. The Commission is currently finishing their 2021 Audit as requested by the state, as soon as that is done, they will approve an Audit for the 2025-26 Fiscal year ending next week. The Board passed a budget amendment for that Fiscal year as well as passing a proposed budget for 2026-27
The Board voted to pay Conley a full time salary until all financials can be brought up to date. That is expected to take one or two months.
The County Tourist Commission will be spending up to $5000 on the upcoming 250th Anniversary of America coming up July 18
