CTS Board meets

The Monticello Wayne County Telecommunications Board doing business as Community Telecom Services met Tuesday night for their monthly session.

The Board had a lengthy Executive session discussing litigation, and also had another lengthy Executive session discussing Strategic Planning.

No action was taken on either session when the Board returned to its regular meeting.

In Managers Calvin McFarland’s report, he told the Board CTS now has 167 miles of fiber run in the city and county. McFarland says fiber installation continues on the Oil Valley/Barrier/Coffee Mountain project. Crews are also installing fiber on McKinley Sexton Road to the end of Sunset Boulevard. That project will extend fiber out East KY 92 to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church,

When those projects are complete, it is expected CTS will begin running fiber to the highway 2393 Golden Pond Area. When Fiber work is complete in those areas, it will make High Speed Internet available as well as cable TV and Telephone Service.
