Edith Elizabeth (Goff) Prewitt of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Baptist Health in Louisville, Kentucky having attained the age of 94 years, 7 months, and 7 days. She was born in the Rush Branch Community of Pulaski County, Kentucky on Sunday, August 24, 1930 the daughter of Green & Nannie Lee (Adkins) Goff. A devoted member of Harvest Church of God, Edith was a kind and faithful woman who cherished her family, her cats, and found joy in yard sales and life’s simple treasures. A loving homemaker, she also worked as a clerk at Kmart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Willard Prewitt, brothers, Clifford Goff, Charles Goff, Lenard Goff, Carl Goff, sister, Ruth Ellen (Goff) Smith, grandson, Alexander Jay Prewitt, paternal grandparents, John Wesley & Kate (Loveless) Goff, maternal grandparents, Thomas & Sallie (Eldridge) Adkins.
She is survived by her children, Robert “Bobby” Prewitt, Jayme Lynn Prewitt, both of Louisville, Kentucky, sister, Edna Mae (Goff) Buxton of Frankfort, Kentucky, grandchildren, Kayla Nicole Prewitt, Haylee Marie Prewitt, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of the New’s Monticello Funeral Home, 2381 E Highway 90, Monticello, KY 42633, with Bro. Ricky Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3, 2025, beginning at 3:00 P.M., until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218, on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.
