Franklin Theodore Olson, Sr.

MSGT. Franklin Theodore Olson, Sr. of Crawfordville, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his residence in Wakulla County Florida, having attained the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 22 days. He was born on Friday, July 27, 1945, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Frank T. & Eva Margaret (McCormick) Olson. Franklin was of the Christian faith and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. During his military career, he specialized in missile systems maintenance & analysis; received numerous honors and commendations including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and several professional military education and service awards. After his distinguished military career, Franklin went on to work as an electrical engineer for Lockheed Martin until retirement. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann (Baker) Olson, whom he wed on Saturday, August 1, 1964 and other brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his children, Kimberley (& Gregory) Westerfield of Dewey, Arizona, Franklin T. Olson, Jr. (& Jasmin) of Auburn, Georgia; grandchildren, Mikayla (& Jonathan) Chunn, Aspen (& Fredrick) Cummings, Teddy Olson III, Brianna Olson, great-grandchildren, Evelynn Cummings, Blakely Cummings, Emerleigh Chunn, Addison Chunn, along with a host of other family members and friends.

The graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. in the Cave Springs Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky with military honors provided by the Monticello DAV Chapter #105. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. in the Memory Chapel of the Campbell-New Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky.
