Among the plans presented was a new entrance to the downtown area from Michigan Avenue or East KY 92 to include a roundabout on the Public Square. One of the Roundabout plans included moving the Doughboy Statue on the Square, one plan included a Roundabout with the Doughboy in the middle of the square in its current location. This plan would require all parking on the square be removed. Thre possible locations to move the Doughboy, on on the corner of the Square, one in front of the Wayne County Judicial Center, and another on the grassy knoll between Main Street Books and the Wayne County Courthouse.

Officials said all of the various plans are being considered including the possibility of no changes being made at all. Comments were taken from those attending. The main reason for the possible changes is the struggle large trucks have with downtown turns, especially at the Stop Light, where the Monticello Bank Main Office building has been hit numerous times by vehicles

The Doughboy Statue has stood in its current location over 100 years.
