Kentucky Dominates SEC Opener, Faces Road Test at Georgia

The sixth-ranked Kentucky Wildcats (12-2) are set to embark on their SEC road journey after a thrilling 106-100 victory over No. 6 Florida at Rupp Arena on Saturday. Koby Brea ignited the offense with seven three-pointers, contributing a career-high 23 points to the victory.  

This win marked the third time this season the Wildcats have toppled a top-10 opponent, having previously defeated Duke and Gonzaga.

Otega Oweh leads the scoring charge for UK, averaging 15.9 points per game. He’s supported by a balanced attack featuring Lamont Butler (13.8 ppg, 3.8 apg), Brea (12.7 ppg), Jaxson Robinson (12.1 ppg), Andrew Carr (11.5 ppg), and Amari Williams (10.4 ppg). Williams also leads the team on the boards with 8.4 rebounds per game.  

The Wildcats will now face a tough test against Georgia (12-2) at Stegeman Coliseum on Tuesday at 7:00 PM ET. Coach Mike White’s Bulldogs, despite a recent loss to Ole Miss in their SEC opener, boast impressive victories over Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, and St. John’s.
