Man Arrested After Police Pursuit

A Whitley City man is behind bars following a multi-county police pursuit Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say 25-year-old Jacob Jones was driving a stolen vehicle when the chase began in Pulaski County, following an incident at the Somerset Walmart.

Somerset Police initiated the pursuit, which continued south on U.S. 27 and onto Kentucky 90 into Wayne County. Deputies there joined the chase just east of Monticello as it moved through downtown and then onto KY 92 heading toward McCreary County.

The pursuit ended several miles east of Monticello, where Jones was taken into custody without further incident.
He now faces a long list of charges, including multiple counts of wanton endangerment, reckless driving, speeding, criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, and fleeing or evading police. Additional charges are expected out of Somerset.

Jones is currently lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
