Mark Allen Groce

Mark Allen Groce of Albany, Kentucky passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the University of Louisville Health – Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 63 years. He was born on November 19, 1962, in Burkesville, Kentucky, the son of Hubert “Junior” Groce & Barbara Ann (Huff) Thacker. He was of the Christian faith and worked as a truck driver for Marcum Trucking, and as an EMT for 10 years. Mark had a lifelong love for music, beginning at the age of 13, and was known for his ability to play by ear. He enjoyed watching wrestling, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and played for the “Destiny Southern Gospel Group”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Angel Loxley McNew.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Jean (Sexton) Groce of Albany, Kentucky, whom he wed on December 29, 2000; daughters, Samantha (& Rob) Esparza of Van Wert, Ohio, Cassandra “CJ” Sexton (& Jeremy) of Albany, Kentucky; grandchildren, Evali, Xehrya, Kaydence, Isaiah, Linnie, and Asa; along with several other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. in the Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky with Bro. Bruce Stearns and Bro. Shane Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2026, after 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers donations appreciated to the Mark Groce Memorial Fund, c/o Campbell-New Funeral Home.
