A swift investigation by the Monticello Police Department has led to the arrest of a suspect in connection with a burglary reported Sunday morning at the Monticello Smoke and Vape store.
At approximately 10:40 a.m. employees arriving to open the business discovered the front glass door had been shattered and immediately called the Monticello-Wayne County 911 Dispatch Center.
Through investigative efforts, Major Josh Asberry quickly developed a suspect and at 1:17 p.m. arrested Jon Ahline, age 35, at his residence on Country Meadow Lane. Numerous items stolen from the store were recovered.
Ahline has been charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft by Unlawful Taking. He was also served with a criminal complaint warrant for shoplifting earlier this year at the Pit Mart at stop light #3.
Ahline was processed and lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center
