Monticello Utility Commission Meets

The Monticello Utility Commission held their regular monthly session Thursday. The commission welcomed a new Chairman, Dr. Jeff Smith at the beginning of the meeting. The board heard an update on the proposed 8.7 million dollar West Monticello Sewer Project as Manager Scott Upchurch said the state is holding up the project at the current time requesting an archaeological survey be complete before the bid process can take place.

The Board discussed adding a couple bays to its Utility Shop on Columbia Avenue with no action take.

In the April 2026 financial report, the Commission took in $639,873 in revenues with $715,045 in expenditures.
