Nida Faye (Garner) Worley New, of Monticello passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026 at her home having attained the age of 87 years, 11 months & 24 days. She was born on Sunday, September 11, 1938 in the Cabell Community of Wayne County, Kentucky the daughter of Elisha Harrison & Ima Flossie (King) Garner. She was a Christian lady accepting Christ as her savior at a very young age, a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, was formerly a member of Lockett’s Chapel Methodist Church, graduated from Wayne County High School class of 1956, employed by Proctor & Chilton Rankin Insurance Agency as the office manager for over 40 years, a member of the Odds & Ends Homemakers Club, The Monticello Women’s Club, the Red Hat Society Club, and Volunteered at the Wayne County Hospital for several years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Conley Worley whom she wed December 21, 1957, he passed away on December 1, 2000; her sisters, Shirley Shepherd & Mary Weston; brothers, Pascal Garner, Bill Garner, Harold Garner & Paul Garner.
She is survived by her Husband, Joe Darwin New whom she wed on September 9, 2015; many Nieces, Nephews & Great Nieces & Nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Bro. Dewey Burks officiating, with burial in The Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the funeral home, and again from 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Gideon Bible Program or Fall Creek Baptist Church in her memory.
