Pulaski Sheriff’s Office arrests Berea man on drug charges

Sheriff Bobby Jones reports a Berea man is in custody following a search warrant on
Wednesday night at a local hotel.


The incident started when the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic’s Division began an
investigation into Brian Hittle, age 37, of Berea. The investigation revealed Hittle was going out
of state to pick up large quantities of methamphetamine and then selling them in Pulaski County.
On Wednesday, Detectives observed Hittle leaving a room at the Red Roof Inn, where he had
been staying. Detective Trent Massey followed Hittle and conducted a traffic stop on him on
Washington Drive. A search warrant was issued just prior to the stop for Hittle’s vehicle and his
hotel room.


Detective Massey, along with Lieutenant Richard Smith and Deputy Dylan West conducted a
search of the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, Deputies located approximately 245.1 grams
of methamphetamine, an AR-15 rifle, a handgun, approximately 7.6 grams of marijuana, and
digital scales. Deputies also located $1,706.00 in U.S. currency.


Detective Lieutenant Daryl Kegley, along with Detective Tan Hudson, and Deputy Grant Bryant
executed a search warrant on the room at the Red Roof Inn. Deputies located approximately 4.7
grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, baggies, and ammunition in the hotel room.


Detective reviewed Hittle’s criminal history, which revealed he had previously pled guilty to
trafficking in methamphetamine, a felony, which also prevented him from possessing firearms.
Hittle was arrested and charged with the following:
 Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1 st Degree 2 nd Offense (methamphetamine) over
2 grams
 Trafficking in Marijuana (less than 8 ounces)
 Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
 Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
 Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
The investigation is on-going by Detective Lieutenant Daryl Kegley of the Narcotics Division
with additional charges expected. Detective Kegley was assisted on scene by Detective Tan

Hudson, Detective Trent Massey, Lieutenant Richard Smith, Deputy Dylan West, and Deputy
Grant Bryant.
