Ronald Charles Shipman, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at his residence in Clinton County, Kentucky having attained the age 70 years, 3 months, and 27 days. He was born on Thursday, June 7, 1956, in Westerville, Ohio, the son of Charles & Cassandra (Huey) Shipman.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and was of the Methodist faith. He attended Lee’s Chapel Church and had made Albany his home since 2011, coming from Centerburg, Ohio.
Ron loved the Lord and had served as a preacher for many years, while also volunteered with the American Red Cross. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and cutting grass. He loved woodworking, and construction, and built small cabins near Lake Cumberland named “Ron’s Rustic Cabins”. He especially loved his dogs, Clyde, Miracle, Gracie, Gunner, Amos, Bonnie Belle, Moe, Bo, Kody, Miko, Hope, and Diesel.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra (Huey) Shipman; stepmother, Ann Shipman; and sister, Rhonda Shipman.
Survivors include his wife, Janet “Jan” (Posey) Shipman; father, Charles “Chuck” Shipman; son, Chance (& Kelsey) Shipman; daughters, Sarah (& Robert) Comer, Ashley Shipman; stepson, Chris (& Jill) Rogers; stepdaughter, Angela (& Doug) Francis; Kentucky son, Mark Bell; Kentucky daughter, Tonya LaPois; brother, Russell Shipman; sisters, Raeshon Shipman and Daviee (Edward) Hoover; 8 grandchildren; 2 extra grandchildren, and 8 extra great-grandchildren; special aunt and uncle, Gerald & Marilyn Fletcher; special friend, Joe Whitley; Kentucky brother, David Sterns; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
