Stanley Eugene “Bud” Marcum of Albany, Kentucky, formerly of Wayne County, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at The Medical Center of Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 72 years, 11 months, and 26 days. He was born on Monday, May 25, 1953, in New Castle, Indiana, the son of Joe Stanley & Ruby (Owens) Marcum. Bud was of Christian faith and faithfully attended the Red Hill Church of Christ. He served his community as a dedicated school bus driver. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, listening to the Clinton County High School Band, working on different John Deere lawn tractors, driving kids on sporting event trips, but most of all serving his savior Jesus Christ. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Sue Shelton, brothers-in-law, David Shelton, and Klemon Owens, sister-in-law, Murlene Parrigan, father & mother-in-law, Harold (& Bonnie) Mason, niece, Kimberly Means, and nephew, Micheal Parrigan.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris (Mason) Marcum, whom he wed on Saturday, October 25, 1975; son, Shawn Marcum (& Natahsa Gray) of Albany, Kentucky; siblings, Faye (& Russell) Means, Geraldine “Gerry” Shelton, both of Alpha, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Arlene Owens; brother-in-law, Robert Shelton, both of Albany, Kentucky, uncle, Leonard Owens of Florida, and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and many friends.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. CST in the Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Ridgeway officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 5, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky.
