The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will open Southeastern Conference play against Mississippi State on Thursday, January 2nd at 7 pm ET in Memorial Coliseum.

UK is coming off a win over in-state foe Western Kentucky and are looking to extend their winning streak to five games. Kentucky is also looking to improve their record in SEC openers to 20-23.
The Wildcats are ranked in the nation’s top 25 in eight categories, including blocks per game, free-throw percentage, assist/turnover ratio, assists per game, field-goal percentage defense, defensive rebounds per game, three-point field goal percent defense, and three-point field goal attempts per game. Kentucky also has all five of its starters averaging double-digit scoring and three of its starters grabbing at least 9.0 rebounds per game. 1
UK leads the all-time series against Mississippi State, 31-24. However, the two teams split matchups last season. Kentucky will be looking to win their second straight game against the Bulldogs.
