Wayne County defeated Mercer County 69 to 31 Monday in the opening round of the Girls 12th Region Tournament at Pulaski County High School. The Lady Cardinals improve to 18-11 on the season, will advance to the semifinals Friday night at 6:30 against Rockcastle County, a 52 to 46 winner over Boyle County in the first game tonight
