Sheriff Bobby Jones reports a Wayne County man is in jail following a traffic stop.
The incident began when Detectives from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division
were conducting interdiction in the Science Hill area of Pulaski County. While conducting
surveillance, Detective Tan Hudson observed a small passenger car on Highway 1676, operating
at a high rate of speed. Detective Hudson conducted a stop of the vehicle. Deputy Grant Bryant
assisted in the stop.
Deputy Dylan West arrived on the scene, with his K-9, Rocky, to assist. Deputy West deployed
Rocky to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle. Following the walk around, Deputies conducted
a search of the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, Deputies located approximately 242.2
grams of methamphetamine under the passenger seat, where Stevie W. Gregory Jr., age 46, of
Monticello, had been sitting. Deputies also located digital scales and various paraphernalia.
A search of Gregory’s criminal history revealed he had previously been found guilty of
Trafficking in Controlled Substances. Gregory Jr. was arrested on the scene and charged with the
following:
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1 st Degree, 2 nd or greater offense over 2 grams
The investigation is still ongoing by Detective Lieutenant Daryl Kegley. The Pulaski County
Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Kentucky State Police and the Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
