The Wayne County Board of Education held its regularly scheduled meeting on
Thursday, with Supt. Don Neal and all members present. Superintendent Neal took a moment
to honor two board members, Melissa Upchurch and Larry Muse, whose terms are
coming to a close. Both have dedicated 20 years of service to the Wayne County
School System.
The board approved the Comprehensive District Improvement Plan, which outlines
strategies for enhancing educational outcomes across the district. The Improvement
Plan for the Middle School was also approved, aiming to address specific needs and
foster academic growth.
The board decided to postpone the decision on the school calendar committee until the newly
elected board members take office. The consent agenda items were reviewed and
approved, concluding the scheduled business of the meeting.
