Wayne County Public Library Board met in regular session Wednesday with
Chairman Sandra Riddle, all board members, and Director Logan Anderson
present.
Director Anderson informed the board that the New Year is starting with several
exciting things coming to the library. One is a new website, thanks to a $5,000
development grant from the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives.
Anderson provided the board with a handout detailing how the current website,
while functional, lacks the modern design and inspiration that drives successful
web traffic. Board members were given an overview of websites that Director
Anderson found inspiring and attractive. Anderson also spoke of the many goals
she hopes to meet with the new site. Board members will review the current
website and submit suggestions for the future website, with a final decision on the
new site announced in the coming weeks.
Applications are being accepted to fill the full time position of Children’s
Librarian through close of business, Wednesday, January 22nd. Interviews will be
scheduled with applicants selected as soon thereafter as possible.
The library has a CD that is maturing next month. Letters will be mailed to all
local banks, and the board traditionally accepts the one with the highest return.
The library board next meets Wednesday, February 19th
