He is survived by: four daughters, Jessica Bertram (Bill), Jacqueline Piercy (Chris), Arlene Guinn (Gabe), and Kelsey Thompson (Brandon Gehring); seven grandchildren, Dylan Piercy, Jacob Piercy, Eli Guinn, Jade Guinn, Madison Bertram, Juliette Gehring, and Charlotte Gehring; and one great grandchild, Kipton Piercy. He is also survived by: two brothers, Bro. Rayburn Sweet (Blanche) and Paul Sweet (Katrina); and three sisters, Lora Elam Dolen, Mary Barrier (Robert), and Judy Denney; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 9, 2026, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
