He is survived by: Aletha Bertram; children, Ben Sumpter (Julie), Ashley Sanders (Andy), and Ryan Sumpter; grandkids, Elizabeth and Mason Sumpter, and Harper Hancock; sister-in-law, Anita Sumpter; and brother-in-law, Audie Coffey; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, between 12 pm – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
In connection to this service, Aletha’s Beauty Shop will be closed this week.
