Daniel Edward Martin of Albany, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Medical Center of Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 11 days. He was born in Honesdale, Pennsylvania on Friday, January 20, 1950, the son of Robert Martin and June Della (Perry) Rogan, and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Gertrude Amelia Martin and Daniel Martin. Mr. Martin was of the Christian faith and faithfully attended Maupin Church in Clinton County, Kentucky. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines, attaining the rank of Private First Class, and later retired from the Pennsylvania State Police. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge Chapter #206 of Albany, Kentucky, reflecting his commitment to fellowship and community, and dedicated his life to service both in the military and in law enforcement. Daniel will be remembered as a man of faith, dedication, and quiet strength. His commitment to his country, his community, and his calling reflected a life of honor and integrity. He leaves behind a legacy of service and devotion that will be cherished by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Frank Martin, Harold Martin; grandparents, Gertrude Amelia Martin and Daniel Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Brown) Martin, whom he wed on Saturday, March 19, 2011; children, Danny Martin Jr. of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Chris (& Virgina) Martin of Dunedin, Florida, Shannon Martin of Eubank, Kentucky; stepchildren, Angelia (& Rick) Coleman of Albany, Kentucky, Danielle Hicks of Albany, Kentucky, Ashley (& Doc) Hardin of Albany, Kentucky; siblings, Virgina Herzog of Pennsylvania, Essie Griemsman of Smithville, North Carolina; fur-babies, Mugsy, Budrow; thirteen grandchildren, & three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday April 7, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. , in the memory chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday April 6, 2026 beginning at 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday April 7, 2026 beginning at 6:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Maupin cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky.
