Dan K. Dishman, age 78, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
He is survived by: his wife, Ida Dishman; two daughters, Alison Dalton (Matthew) and Amy Gibson (Allen); and four grandchildren, Kyle Dalton, Kada Witbeck (Maxx), Ryan New (Bobbie), and Faith Dobbs (Ryan); and one great grandchild, Oakleigh Dalton and another on the way. He is also survived by: three brothers, Frank Dishman (Linda), Menvil Dishman (Susan), and David Dishman (Teressa); along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
Dan was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War. He continued his service to his country and community as Honor Guard with the DAV Chapter 105.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home and Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Old Union Separate Baptist Church between 10am – 11 am with the funeral service at 11 am. Burial will be in the Morgan Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
