Evelyn “Cricket” Hurt was born December 29, 1928, and departed this walk of life Thursday, February 5, 2026, reaching the age of 97 years. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Woody (Burris) Guffey.
She is survived by her sisters: Elsie Hicks, Gladys Story (Ralph), Doris Tucker and Betty Rains; Sister-in-laws: Joann Guffey, Irene Guffey and Glada Hurt; Brother-in-laws: Denver Hurt and David Hurt. Along with many nieces, nephews and friends that mourn her passing
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10 AM – 1 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 1 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Old Bethel Bible Church Cemetery.
