James “Roger” Upchurch, age 66, of Monticello passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his home.
He is survived by:
1 daughter, Savannah Skeens (husband, Bryant)
1 stepdaughter, Chelsey Humphrey
2 brothers- Larry Upchurch and Dale Upchurch (wife, Lisa)
4 sisters- Mary Davis (husband, James Ralph), Lynda Upchurch, Ann Gregory, and Shirley Hughes (husband, Thurman)
1 step-granddaughter, Rose Humphrey
1 brother-in-law, Frank Wright
1 sister-in-law, Wilma Upchurch
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oakley and Vela Marie Upchurch; his sister, Sue Wright; and his brothers, Ralph Upchurch and Bobby Gene Upchurch; and one brother-in-law, Jeff Gregory.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Hidden Oak Farm Cemetery.
