Mary Sue Jenkins

Mary Sue (Melton) Jenkins of Albany, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, having attained the age of 76 years, 10 months and 12 days. She was born in Albany, Kentucky on Saturday, March 26, 1949, the daughter of Roy Lee & Ella Creola (Surratt) Melton. She was of the Pentecostal faith and found enjoyment in watching QVC and the HSN television stations. She especially loved talking with her family on the phone, always keeping up with their lives and staying closely connected to those she loved. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Debra (Melton) Sells, Lonnie Edward Melton, Granville Lee Melton; nephews, Sean Daniels, Chris Melton; and niece, Crystal Melton.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell L. Jenkins, whom she wed on March 3, 2007; daughter, April Riddle of Albany, Kentucky; step-sons Randy Jenkins, Danny Jenkins; sister-in-law, Rita Melton; grandson, Dawson Waid, step-grandson, Braylon Jenkins, nieces & nephews; Tina (& Richard) Taylor, Lori (& Brian) Wofford, Rusty (& Jenna) Sells, Mike Melton; many great-nieces & nephews, and great-great-nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 2:00 pm C.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Duvall & Bro. Scott Jones officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 12:00 noon C.S.T. until the funeral hour.
