The Wayne County School Board of Education met Thursday night in regular monthly session with all members present.
The Board voted unanimously to approve the 2025-26 working budget, a General fund of 41.8 million with 3.6% contingency. The budget included 17.5 million dollars in SEEK funding from state government.
In Superintendent Brian Dishman’s report, He said Bid opening for the Walker Elementary project would be next Thursday at 2PM, with the possibility of a special called Board meeting the following week to consider accepting or rejecting bids on the project.
Board member Tony Roberts was elected as the Board representative on the local planning committee. In addition, the Board voted to update the local planning committee and District Facilities plan.
