The Wayne County Tourism Board met last night in Special Session. Most of the one hour meeting spent in discussion of the County’s Tourism Board sponsorship of the upcoming Fall Fest.
City Tourism Director Todd McFarland told the board that the City’s Tourism Board has committed $75,000 to the event. The County Tourism Board has paid $25,000 in the past on the event. The Board discussed the $25,000 being a large portion of its $66,000 annual revenues. After more discussion the County Tourism Board voted to donate $11,000 to Fall Fest with a promise of helping obtain additional sponsorships for the event
