CTS Board meets, hires Attorney

The Monticello Wayne County Telecommunications Board dba CTS met Tuesday for their regular monthly session with all members present.

The Board by a 4 to 2 vote hired Yasmin King as CTS Attorney. Members Alan Hopper, Mike Meadows, Rodney Butcher, and Stewart York voted in favor of the hiring, Jonathon Dobbs and Jerry Neal voted no.

The Board discussed the Clinton County Fiber Project, and voted to move ahead on the project by a 3 for, 1 against and two abstentions. The project to be paid for by a $250,000 federal grant and $65,000 from Marina Rowena will give CTS the possibility of up to 173 new residential customers as well as the Marina. Butcher, Meadows, and Hopper voting in favor of the project, with Dobbs voting no and York and Neal abstaining.

In the General Manager Calvin McFarland’s report, he said September revenues were $223,606, while expenditures were $220,052.
